Chronology

Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Bear Retirement Home. With the Brown family at the helm, an exciting adventure begins when a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this installment. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and is serving as executive producer. Well, Mrs.

Brown has moved on

For those who don’t know, the previous owner, Sally Hawkins, said it was time to move on. I tried to get attached to her, but to me, Emily Mortimer is just an older product of the London School of Lovely girls. I know the show has moved on, but Emily’s opening moves are boring, flat, and uninspiring. For a few minutes I thought Oh no!! I tried to warm up to her, she made some strange advances later in the film…

We’re being fair

the least they could have done was give her a meaningful script, she seemed too much like a little wife who didn’t say much. Sorry Em! Same for Madeline Harris as Judy, excellent, maybe more jokes next time for both of them. Maybe she tried to be Sally Hawkins at times, I’m not sure, but she had big boots to fill and Sally was a crushing success. Everyone played their roles very well in the end.

This journey takes him around the world, guess where

Either way, the charming Peruvian finds himself this time taking the initiative and coming to the aid of his family members. A family member is in trouble and the oldest madness and mortal sin are the cause of all the problems. The scenery in the distance is stunning, just beautiful, it inspired me to go there, as did London, which is sadly happy. There is a lot of hilarity, action and even tears in the film, but many young children, not particularly brave natures, will find the show not so warm, scary at times, and I thought so at times. It is visually just as stunning as the previous films, while the script is flat and a bit predictable at times, the mysteries revealed were simple enough for a five year old to understand…

the intended audience

ah… Haha… that doesn’t take away from the CGI impact of the film and a particularly deafening one if you have healthy phobias of certain creatures (not snakes). It looks like Bonneville has had a hair transplant, I’m not sure, but as always he gives a great performance, as do Walters and some great newcomers to the story… a charming character from the last film appears, let’s just say I don’t think this is the end.
